Product Description: A superb tub chair in the Egyptian style. Elaborately hand-carved leopard masks continuing into lifelike clawed and padded feet. Giltwood manes and other decorated accents. This iconic tub chair owes to the Duke of Wellington and the family's home at Stratfield Saye House. Appropriately throne-like, the original was designed as a public gift to the immensely popular Duke whose military genius ultimately defeated Napoleon. While surely a bold accent anywhere, this design also works well in a library or an office. Circa 1810.
