Product Description: This is an English Regency sofa with a serpentine back and superbly scrolled and tapered arms. The latter with intricate spiral volutes. The apron has a blind fretwork detail of Gothic design. Scimitar legs ending in a brass cap and caster. The original resides at Broughton Castle, the moated home of the 20th Lord Saye and Sele, whose family history includes signing the Magna Carta. This diminutive sofa floats superbly. With the user literally hugged in the corners, it can function as a tete-a-tete or an end-of-bed bench. In the right room, this would be remarkable in pairs. English circa 1845.
