Product Description: Adapted from a Southwestern trading blanket in Ralph Lauren's private collection, the Taos rug by Ralph Lauren Rugs combines ancient Soumak and Peshawar knotting techniques to create a modern expression of tribal carpets. Colored with vegetable dyes to create striking natural colors, the texture of the Taos rug is heightened by contrasting a raised cut pile motif in a Peshawar weave against a flatweave ground of Soumak hand-knotting. Adapted from Navajo trading blankets in Ralph Lauren's private collection. A modern expression of ethnic rugs combining two ancient knotting techniques (Soumak flat loop weave and Peshawar pile weave) in one original design. Hand-knotted in Pakistan of high quality Persian wool. Vegetable dyes are used to enhance the natural rustic look of the wool.
